5 Fitness Apps That Will Help You Reach Your Goals!

So far this month we have introduced a new healthy menu brought to you by the Getaway Café and showed you how to set your own personal fitness goals. Now we want to hear from you!! Below are some of our favorite fitness apps, but of course we don’t know about them all so please comment below and tell us what YOU use or what you have discovered! Together we can help each other achieve our individual health and fitness goals!

The free fitness app MyFitnessPal is one of the best all-in-one calorie counter and exercise trackers. A simple design and interface make using the app very easy to use. The app features an enormous catalog of foods, meals, recipes and includes a barcode scanner for finding packaged foods’ nutritional information.

Available on: Android, BlackBerry, iOS, Windows Phone, and Web.

The Nike+ Running app tracks your distance, pace, time, and calories burned while you run. It uses GPS to map your route and has audio feedback built in—including real-time cheering every time one of your friends from Facebook “likes” the post where you’ve noted you’re going out for a run. If you have a Nike+ FuelBand, the app integrates well with it. It also provides easy access to the web store for  Nike gear, if you want to stay stylish while working out!

Nike+ Training Club combines workout instructionals into one, easy to use app! Choose individual workouts, or select a targeted, structured four-week or 30 day program to help you get lean, toned or strong in 30 days. The workouts feature Nike Master Trainers and world-class athletes like Maria Sharapova, and the app has built in instruction and motivation during the workouts to help you blast through your fitness goals!

Ever wanted to run a race, but figured you’d never be able to make it past that first mile? C25K is a proven program to take beginners from the couch to a full on 5K race! This full featured program will allow users to slowly build strength and stamina by alternating between walking and running, and only 3 days a week. By design, the program allows (and recommends) ample time in between workouts for muscles to heal and rest. So when users begin each workout, they are at their peak condition and ready to rock and roll.

It targets popular casual dining restaurants, fast-food restaurants, grocery stores and convenience stores nearby.
