Gifts and Gratuities Policy Reminder- PMA

This week we host the Produce Marketing Association (PMA) at the GWCC. During this show exhibitors bring new products (specifically food) for show attendees to sample and take home in an effort to expand their brand. Because most exhibitors bring an excess of product to this show, staff may be offered product while working on the show floor. Naturally the exhibitors would like to relieve themselves of the extra product before leaving Atlanta and heading to their next destination.

This is a reminder that the Georgia World Congress Center Authority policy on “Gifts and Gratuities” prohibits accepting anything from any user of any Authority facility- this includes attendees, customers, and exhibitors. All product left over from the show is scheduled to be donated to the Atlanta Food Bank, as the Authority has done in the past for other large trade shows with food product.

Please see the policy below:

Gifts and Gratuities

Employees are specifically prohibited from accepting gratuities, gifts, tips, etc., from any user of any Authority facility. It is customary for trade show and convention industry customers to at times provide all employees with a “gratuity” following an event. Such gratuities are placed in the Authority Employee Activities Fund for use in activities that are available to all employees.

If you would like to volunteer with the Atlanta Food Bank in relation to this event there are opportunities both this upcoming Sunday and Monday. Sign up here: http://www.acfb.org/volunteer-sign-up and look for October 25th & 26th.
